The Better World Foundation NGO was established to help the Egyptian youth advance in the critical areas of academia and technology. Through experienced volunteers, high-quality equipment, and established methods, Better World is changing the professional outlook for hundreds of Egyptians every year by teaching world-languages, international skills, and proactive attitudes. We currently offer services to thousands of public university students and recent graduates.
With our balanced organizational membership (50% Egyptian and 50% foreign), we offer youth a multi-national and interdisciplinary experience that provides opportunities for fruitful inter-cultural relations.
Better World Foundation’s main objectives are increasing languages and computer literacy, providing life-skills education and employment support. Our target group is youth between the ages of 18 and 35 years old with a focus on underprivileged Public University students and recent graduates, regardless of their gender, religion, color or ethnicity.
Our main program “ICT Egypt” strives to create change in the Egyptian society by providing Egyptian youths with the basic skills needed in today’s job market. ICT Egypt currently provides training in computer programs and world languages including English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Arabic. Classes are taught by a volunteer staff, who are all native speakers of their respective languages. In addition, we provide Life Skills Education Seminars including Management Skills, Organizational Skills, Time Management, Resume Building, Interviewing Skills, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills, Communication Skills, Work Attire, Critical Thinking, Professional Health, Leadership Skills, and Team Work. Since its establishment in
2006, Better World has trained more than 10,000 Egyptian
youth, arming them with the tools that can change their quality of work and their quality of life.
Besides our main program, Better World also offers internships and volunteer positions in various programs (i.e. Social Awareness, training, Environmental, Job Listing and Entrepreneurship). Our interns and volunteers have conducted practical research papers, campaigns and awareness events on different topics including “Nile River Water Treatment: What Can We Do?” “Waste Treatment & Recycling,” “What is the Environment?” “Anti-Drug & Alcohol,” “Stop Sexual Harassment,” “Food reservation,” “Agriculture and Recycling in Egypt,” and “Swine Flu Awareness”. This includes integration of art, environmental related programs, and social inclusion.
Since establishment of Better World Foundation, we have
been able to create a better environment for cultural exchange as we have a balanced corps of volunteers, of which 50% Egyptian and 50% international. We had international volunteers from different countries in the world of different cultures, gender and religion, including the USA, Canada, and several countries in Africa and Europe.
Better World established a workspace and entrepreneurial hub where young entrepreneurs can start their own innovative ideas with a strong mentoring program and host.

Our youth leader Hany Amin is a recognized youth leader with a huge passion for development and cultural programs that aims to unite youth across the globe. Michael Saeed is responsible for promotion of vacant placements, selection, preparation and support of the participants (before, during and after the project). Catherine Twadroy is responsible for reaching out to our new partners in the Erasmus domain and bringing European culture in our programs, and she is responsible for the implementation phase.
Our team consists of seven members who all have experience with the Erasmus+ projects. The diversity of our team brings a lot of innovation and non-formal learning culture to the organization and its partners.
Since 2015, our leaders have established multiple partnerships under the Erasmus+ Programme with organizations from Romania, Germany, Italy, Austria, Norway, Portugal, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Turkey, and Spain. We have compiled a comprehensive and fair system for the selection of volunteers and the sending process to ensure a wide involvement of youth.
We are currently one of the four partners for the YouthMed project, funded by the European Union. Led by the Planning and Development Agency (PDA), YouthMed empowers marginalised youth in Lebanon, Spain, Greece and Egypt through hands-on training in digital skills, social entrepreneurship, gender equality and intercultural understanding.
We are always looking for interns and volunteers. Feel free to send us an email to find out about the current openings.
